God, I really need to make a real site so I can seperate my personal blog from a professional one. Oh well, anyways we have a few new pieces approved and some more coming down the pike. So here's some updates, we have a logo for an upcoming rap group, R.City, this was an odd experience. They really knew what they wanted and I just followed their guidance. At the time I did it, I didn't get it, but they loved it. But, the more I look at it, the more I think it's a good idea. It's a little weird but in the music world everybody is apeing each other and they did something that's "them" and it could really push them to the forefront. At the very least it gives props to their old fans and that's never a bad idea. I had some help in knocking out the postcard which makes me laugh a little. A very fun rush job and a little help from your friends is always good. Than last is The Mehan Group logo, which I'm in love with. It's a management company from a good friend of Mowie, Gita Williams. She wanted something corporate that was a nod to her heritage without being overly ethnic. The thumbprint was a left over from a rejected logo, but I always loved it, so why not. I'm pretty proud of that. My logo work has been an uphill battle and I feel some of my newer work shows the effort of the last year. I may even be developing my style. :)

Here's another post, trying to get some recent work up. This is for a new restaurant a client is developing, it was awesome to let go and do something that isn't serious at all. Their website is still pretty raw but they have plans to do t-shirts and hats with the logo, so I'm looking eagerly for those! :)

It's been a minute but I assure you I've been busy! I currently have by far the most open projects right now than ever before and only two weeks in and I can tell you that August is EASILY the busiest month since I went full time freelance. So much so I even outsourced some work to a friend. Amazing. That being said here are two flyers I did for BirminghamRecords (they need a new logo) I'm really pleased with these and even though I made a cardinal sin and used a lens flare (I'M NOT ASHAMED! I'LL DO IT AGAIN, WATCH ME!) I think they are both awesome. They were rush jobs and for that I think they are real solid. I'm hoping Lil Haze will let us do his CD packaging since the grape vein said he, in particular, loved the flyer.

Well. it's been a minute on the world at large for Casey but here's some stuff. One of the reasons I put up this blog is that I wanted to showcase other work. By day I do graphic design work as well as some multimedia work so here's a little update of what I've been up to. I got a lot of cool stuff going on.

--Above you'll see a logo for a Macy Gray TV special (it airs tomorrow at 7:30 on BET J; some sister station of BET) and if you have that channel, I also did the intro but I'm not sure I can show that yet.

--A logo for an upstart company Karen Hunter publishing, pretty excited about this since longterm we're going to be involved with a lot of their upcoming projects and this is the start. She's a talented succesful writer and she's getting control of every aspect of her career and publishing and wow....impressive.

--A FLASH ecard for the upcoming sibling duo Brick&Lace

--A flyer invite for Karen Stone for a church event, I missed the first talk but I really want to catch the next one. It's easy for my friends to think of me as godless. But I'm not, I find theology benefits us all, in so many ways, and it's too bad corruption has hurt it. All personal beliefs aside, many religions center on living our life better for ourselves and those around us, and that's important.

Also, had a big gaming event at a friends house and John and I remixed a special soundtrack for it. To brief anyone, for some reason my friends from my old job and I ended up with a reoccuring joke that goofy was the most terrifying entity on the planet. (Those familiar with Mel's Questionable Spider-Man impression will see some similarities) So I'm putting the soundtrack available for download. Bear in mind this was mixed ourself and the sound levels are a little erratic, so don't blow a speaker.
